She so beautifully leaned in
And whispered
Are you ready?

I foolishly asked
What took you so long?

She responded:
I have been waiting for you
I watched as you wept
Drowning yourself
In your tears

Yet with those same tears
I watched you water yourself
Fiercely embracing the rays of the sun
Exonerating yourself of all the pain
Weighing so heavily on your leaves
You grew into a raging flower

Don’t you see?
I never left
I was always waiting for you.
